safety first

This past weekend we attended a car seat clinic hosted by St. John Ambulance and we're really glad we did. It was a great FREE service that really put us at ease knowing that Baby K's car seat is safe and secure, especially since she's moved on from her infant carrier into her big girl car seat a couple of months ago, which is actually a lot harder to install properly.

It's staggering that over 70% of car-related deaths involving children are because of improper car seats installations. So, if you haven't already attended a clinic, I highly suggest going. For us, it was a 45 minute wait, but well worth the time spent. The technicians are required to take a 2 day certification course, then 50 hours of practical hands-on training. And to think we install car seats on our own by reading a vague instruction manual for no more than 15 minutes or so! We learned a lot at the clinic and met some really nice people too!
